Our commitment

cgelectricalessex.co.uk is designed and built to meet the WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standard, the current W3C recommendation. We test the site with keyboard navigation, screen readers, and at multiple zoom levels.

What we’ve done

  • Semantic HTML throughout, with proper landmarks.
  • Colour contrast meeting WCAG AA across body text and interactive elements.
  • Keyboard-navigable forms and menus, with a visible focus ring on every interactive element.
  • Descriptive alt text for all meaningful images.
  • Real headings and lists rather than visual styling.
  • The auto-advancing hero slideshow has a visible pause/play control, so it can be stopped at any time (WCAG SC 2.2.2 “Pause, Stop, Hide”).
  • Interactive controls meet the WCAG 2.2 minimum target size of 24×24 CSS pixels.

Known issues

No known WCAG 2.2 AA non-conformances at the time of writing. We’ll re-audit on the production WordPress build and update this statement if anything changes.
