Why does my RCD Keep Tripping? –

This can be for a number of reasons; the RCD is there to prevent a more serious fault. If your sockets seem to be the issue, try unplugging all your appliances and see if that helps, alot of faults are used by faulty appliances. Also take into consideration what the weather has been like, if you have power outside and it seems to be when it rains, its likely water is getting into the connections.


How much do you charge? –

Unfortunately, this is a question asked all to commonly. It’s not possible for me to price a job without knowing more information and what materials will be needed.


As a landlord, do I need an Electrical Certificate? –

Landlords require an Electrical Installation Condition Report, This is a new law and needs to be completed every, 5 Years or change of tenant. This ensures the install is up to standard.


I have had some work done, can you sign it off for me? –
+

Unfortunately the answer to this question will always be no, No Electrical contractor can sign off another Electricians work, or member of the public, this is law, if you wish to have an install signed off as it was not done by the previous electrician, you will need to contact building control.


I am getting damp/mould in my bathroom can you help? –

This is a question asked of us all too often, many bathrooms are fitted with poorly working fans or no fan at all, we install fans we believe truly work and are sure you’ll be happy and notice the difference immediately. There are many options for you in terms of ducting the air out pf your bathroom and that’s something we can discuss while quoting

If I buy the materials will the job be cheaper? –

Theoretically yes, however what we often find when a client buy the materials is items are forgotten, not correct for the purpose or the most often is the quality is not good and we don’t like to install products which we believe don’t have a long lifespan, by doing that out quality of work is less and ultimately costs yourself more in the long run.


How far do you travel? –

Depending on the job we are happy to travel as far as necessary, however if we believe that a more local trade may be able to do it in a more cost-effective way for you then we many suggest this.


Do you make good? –
+

Often one of the team will carry a small tub of filler on board, however we aren’t decorators and would not make good large amounts of damage. We believe you should be happy 100% with the works we carry out, and we wouldn’t leave our work without being 100% happy either, as we are not decorators, we would not be happy to do a average job which is why we don’t do it, and leave it to the professional’s


I have bought a new light fitting can you fit it for me? –

We would be more than happy to fit your new fitting for you, we will often ask you for a photo to be able to provide a quote, we pride ourselves on client satisfaction so will ensure your happy with the new fitting before we leave.


Will you sign off your work? –

All of my installs are signed off with a minor works or installation certificate, and notifiable works will be notified to building control by myself. You will receive a PDF Certificate for this once payment has been made for the job.


Do you offer 24hr Call out ? –

We do offer a 24hr Call out, and will always have an engineer on hand to get you back up and running, as a general rule of thumb, we will do what we can over the phone to help you get some power back on until the morning, this helps to keep the cost down for you, rather than paying the out of hour call out fee.


When can I call? –

You can call anytime of the day, if you are looking to have a quote for a job or need a emergency electrician, feel free to call the number displayed, if we don’t answer please leave a message and we will get back to you at our earliest convenience.


How Can I Pay? –

The best way to pay is via Bank transfer, this can be paid once work has been completed. We can also accept Cash, paypal, or card payments if we have the reader with us.


Are you Qualified? –

CG Electrical only employees workers who are up to date with the most recent regulations. All Employees must go through a Trial period also to prove the knowledge, to us. CG Electrical is also NICEIC Registered meaning we have gone through a Extensive check by one of the largest governing bodies in the electrical industry.


What is the NICEIC ? –

The NICEIC is one of the largest governing bodies in the electrical industry, The company is assessed every year and this ensures the company is complying with all necessary legislations within the work being carried out.


Do you work weekends and evenings? –

Our team are flexible with working hours and where possible we will work around your own working hours. Should a job need completing out of hours this is also something which we offer


Do you do out of hours work? –
+

We have in the past completed shop fit outs requiring the work the be completed out of hours, this is something which we offer and believe it or not enjoy as the work is often very different


Do you have a DBS Check? –

All our operatives have a up to date DBS certificate, enabling us to work in the majority of locations, For example, schools, retirement homes and hospitals.


Are you trained for working at height? –

All our operatives are trained in ladder safety, Scaffold tower trained, and machinery trained, if it can be reached by a platform, we will reach it.


What is your background? –

Throughout the team we have a large variety of working experience, this ranges from Private work in homes, Commercial works in offices and school, New build works domestic and commercial, along with council owned property works.


Do you take a deposit? –
+

One many jobs we don’t require a deposit unless the material cost is very large or a specialist item which cannot be returned.
